Ongoing Fundraisers and Supporting Your School:

Parental and community support for the school is greatly appreciated and enriches the lives of students. By supporting the school in whatever way you can (even just sharing a link to this page with friends/family) you help support extra programs and opportunities for kids in the arts, athletics, leadership and community involvement!

Indigo Gift Card:

In partnership with Indigo/Chapters, FPSA is pleased to again be offering a great way to support the school library at no additional cost to you. By purchasing Indigo gift cards via our link (below), Indigo will make a donation equivalent to 20% of the value of your purchase to the school library. Last year this program generated over $1000 in investments to the school library reading materials for students. Please feel free to share this link with others!

Farm Fresh Produce Fundraiser

Summit School Council is happy to offer a new fundraising opportunity that will raise money to enhance school programming. Fresh from the Farm, Healthy Fundraising for Ontario Schools, provides schools the opportunity to raise funds by selling fresh, Ontario-grown fruit and vegetables to the community, while promoting healthy eating and supporting Ontario farmers. Fresh from the Farm is a single fundraising event, with a scheduled delivery date to be confirmed in November. Please see the school website for a brochure with more information, go directly to Fresh from the Farm or ask your child to pick up a brochure in the school office. FarmtoTableFundraisingLetter.pdf | FarmOrder.pdf

Special Requests / In-Kind Donations

From time to time, teachers and seek out speciality items to make creative learning opportunities happen, or to otherwise enhance opportunities for kids. Sometimes we are seeking out materials that you may have collecting dust, or time/expertise that you could contribute to an initiative. Your consideration of these special requests is greatly appreciated.

Current Requests:

Brass keyed locks and four digit number combination locks

Some of our classes will be participating in an "Escape Room" activity later this year, and we are currently designing the challenges that they will have to solve to move on from stage to stage.

Eleri Morgan (eleri.morgan@ocdsb.ca)

Scooter Parking Lot

With many students riding scooter to school, FPSA provides and indoor area for students to leave scooters. We are currently looking for someone who could oversee construction of a "scooter parking lot" to keepo the scooter organized. A great project for handy folks! We have a design in mind but are very open minded.Samples

Tim Hawes (tim.hawes@ocdsb.ca)

iphone 5S or Android phones running version 4.1 or higher

FPSA has received a large donation of virtual reality viewers ("Google Cardboard") via a Canada150 project along with great Canadian History content to interact with. The viewers require a cell phone to go inside of them, so we are seeking out any old (but working) devices that are perhaps sitting in a drawer collecting dust.

Lightening cables tocharge ipads

Charing cables for ipads are frequently needing to be replaced. If you have upgraded or changed your technology at home, and have extra "Lightning" cables we could certainly put them to good use.

Lego

This year FPSA will be starting up a number of "Maker Space" activities with kids. Donations of lego (which we use to interact with various programmable robots) is greatly appreciated.
